The Virginia & Truckee Railroad had high hopes for its branch line from Carson City 35 miles south to the farm lands at Minden, Nevada, but unfortunately, the hoped for business never materialized. That last windy dusty day saw virtually no one waving ‘goodbye’ to that ‘last train’ from Minden.
