During this time period, I was intrigued by seeing what I could create with a very limited palette (Prussian Blue & Burnt Sienna). Also, this was one of a long series of watercolors that ‘just began’ – with NO fixed notion of the composition, or of what would transpire. After each wash was laid down, I would study the results and make ‘interpretive’ – or intuitive – additions with additional washes and then detail painting to make a non existent scene come alive.

My thought upon completion was: “If only that was my land and old house…” If only I could be there…
